RecyCold® Climaliner™

Do you, as a retailer or a company in the hospitality/food service sector, ever mail, deliver or have delivered chilled or frozen groceries, meal boxes, take-away meals or other food and/or drinks? If you do, this high-quality paper Climaliner insulating material is an efficient and effective way to protect your products from temperature fluctuations and damage during transport and storage. You will also be preventing food waste in an eco-friendly way because Climaliner liners are an ideal, sustainable packaging solution for products that must remain frozen while in transit in unconditioned transport. To keep frozen or chilled products cool simply fold the liners against the bottom and sides of a paper shopping bag or cardboard box. The user-friendly paper liners are ready for immediate use and offer thermal protection for up to 48 hours.

Sustainable and recyclable

RecyCold® Climaliner is a hygienic mailing packaging made of insulating paper. The liners comprise a single layer of Geami® paper (shock-absorbing kraft paper with a honeycomb structure) sandwiched between top and bottom layers of recycled paper that are sealed along the edges. All the paper is produced in accordance with the FSC Mix label specifications, therefore FSC-certificated, 100% recyclable, renewable and biodegradable. The glue used to seal the outer layers is also accepted in the paper recycling process (confirmed by the European Paper Recycling Council, EPRC). Being made of three layers of thin paper makes Climaliners very flexible, so you can make maximum use of the space in the box or bag. The contents are better protected which means less returns. In addition, the attractive, environmentally-responsible brown paper adds a reassuring tactile dimension to the unpacking experience.

Simple, insulating packaging

The insulating Climaliners are effective and simple in use, certainly when combined with RecyCold’s sustainable Cool Pack pads, which comprise an outer layer of paper with a polyethylene (PE) coating and a filling of food-safe, plant-based ice gel. First line a paper shopping bag or (double or triple corrugated) cardboard box with Climaliners: The quantity required will depend on the length of time the package will be in transit, the product temperature and the ambient temperature. Next, insert the product(s) in the bag or box. Then select the right weight and number of Cool Packs according to the transport requirements and lay them, fully frozen, on top of the product(s). To prevent the contents shifting and to maximise insulation fill any empty spaces, for example with FillPak® filling material, before taping the bag or box closed. If taping a box use the H-tape method: stick the tape along the centre of the top to seal the entire length of the join where the folded flaps meet, making sure you allow overhang on both sides to ensure a secure seal, then tape along the box edges to seal the sides of the flaps.

Space and cost saving

Climaliners are available in three standard lengths (80, 100 and 115 cm). The width is always 38 cm (of which 3 cm is glued edges. The liners are supplied ready for immediate use. Climaliner paper insulating material requires far less storage space than plastic insulating material. And because the liners are designed for one-time use you also save on the costs of returning packaging material.
