Circular Bag®: from plastic waste to flower sleeve

Partnership with Circular Plastics and Kras Recycling

We aim to hasten the circular transition in the packaging industry. For this reason we cooperate strategically with Circular Plastics and Kras Recycling to facilitate a plastic waste recycling system in the ornamental horticulture industry. Together we have developed the CircularBag®.

The Circularbag®

The CircularBag® offers flower processors an efficient and affordable total solution for sustainable plastic waste recycling. The bags are made from 90% recycled plastic and designed for the collection of plastic waste, such as flower wrapping foil, flower and plant sleeves and shrink wrap. The filled bags return from across Europe, through the existing distribution network, to the Dutch flower auctions, where they are processed to make 100% recycled Recy® flower sleeves.

Recy flower sleeve

The Recy flower sleeve is an exceptional example of innovation in the field of circular packaging and an ideal alternative to our regular plastic sleeves, which are made from a fully recyclable mono material. Recy sleeves are made from 100% recycled plastic flower sleeves, collected in the CircularBag® at the Dutch flower auctions. Recy sleeves are the perfect packaging solution to offer maximum protection for the flowers during transportation without taxing the environment unnecessarily.
